Social Responsibility

Our Commitment

At Chiesi USA, social responsibility is central to our mission statement. We greatly value the partnerships we’ve established with nationwide patient organizations and non-healthcare related community-based charities.

Our employees desire to give back to the communities where we live and work and aspire to partner with the patients and caregivers in our therapeutic areas. Through this focus, we have made a commitment to:

  • Invest in our communities to support improvement of health and well-being;
  • Enable employees to engage as partners locally and as advocates in our therapeutics areas;
  • Contribute to cultural development to demonstrate Chiesi USA’s commitment to serve its local community

It’s in our culture to aspire to do more, and we always have fun in the process.

Coats For The Children – WRAL and The Salvation Army
Raleigh, NC – 2018

Chiesi USA was proud to act as a presenting sponsor of WRAL’s 30th annual Coats For The Children campaign. In addition to a $5,000 donation, an intrepid group of Chiesi USA employees braved the winter weather to join the WRAL team in-studio to accept phone pledges on behalf of Triangle children in need.

BackPack Buddies – Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
Cary, NC – 2018

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies program provides children from food-insecure homes with healthy weekend meals during the school year. In 2018, Chiesi USA was able to support this effort through a food drive and in-office packing event yielding over 760 Back Packs!

IBMA Wide Open World of Bluegrass
Raleigh, NC – 2018

Each year the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) brings the Wide Open Bluegrass World of Bluegrass Weekend Festival to downtown Raleigh. As the largest urban bluegrass festival in the world, the event drives significant cultural and economic impact on our community. Since 2015, Chiesi USA has acted as presenting sponsor of the festival.

Hops For Hope
Raleigh, NC – 2018

In 2017, Chiesi USA had a blast partnering with the Glass Jug Beer lab to raise funds, and brew a signature beer, for this year’s Hops For Hope event at the Raleigh Beer Garden. We were proud to raise over $3,300 for Children’s Flight of Hope

Activate Good Day of Service
Raleigh, NC – 2018

For the first time, Chiesi USA was able to participate in the Activate Good, 9/11 Day of Service.  A group of over 15 Chiesi USA employees descended upon Marbles Kids Museum to help staff prepare exhibits for visiting Triangle families.

Poe Magnet Elementary School – Welcome Back
Raleigh, NC – 2018

In 2018 Chiesi USA was excited to start working with a new partner, Poe Magnet Elementary School. To help kick-off the new school year, Chiesi USA employees packed over 700 “welcome back” kits for teachers and students. We were honored to be asked by Poe staff to join them for the first day of school, standing side-by-side with other members of the Raleigh community to greet students as they embarked on an incredible 2018-2019 academic year.

CITC Partner Check Presentation – Durham Bulls
Durham, NC – 2018

Over the 2018 championship season, Chiesi USA committed to making donations for every strikeout thrown by a Durham Bulls pitcher during home games. Bulls pitchers delivered an almost record season, leading to a donation total of $15,000. We were excited to divide the amount raised between three incredible partners: Children’s Flight of Hpe, Me Fine Foundation and Inter Faith Food Shuttle.

Me Fine Foundation Christmas in July
Raleigh, NC – 2018

Chiesi USA employees worked side-by-side with Me Fine Foundation to assemble gift packs for their inaugural Christmas In July event. We were honored to participate, and hope the gifts brightened the day of families with children in the neonatal intensive care units across the Triangle.

The Chiesi Foundation

This nonprofit organization works to promote human health through research and by sharing knowledge with the clinical community and patient organizations. It also supports the education of health care professionals, patients and the general public in our areas of specialist expertise.

Guided by an independent board of eminent academics and practitioners, the Foundation supports research projects that deepen our understanding of patient needs and inform new approaches to their treatment and care. The Foundation also funds the dissemination of these findings through publications, international conferences and other educational initiatives. It is expanding the number and range of research and humanitarian initiatives we support for the prevention and treatment of various diseases in some of the poorest countries.
